As a professional driver, you must do 35 hours of periodic training over 5 years to keep your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) to drive a lorry, bus or coach. This is known as Driver CPC Training, and Sword training Centre are approved by the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training.
The content of this course meets the requirements as outlined in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Having this qualification will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to respond to a real emergency situation.
COURSE AIMS:
The aim of our 7 hour Emergency First Aid For Drivers course is to provide workers in the driving industry with this essential First Aid qualification. However, the course will also provide any driver with the skills and knowledge required to respond to emergency situations.
COURSE CONTENT:
- Identify the role and responsibilities of a First Aider
- Fears of first Aid
- Identify the need for establishing consent to provide First Aid
- Identify the First Aid equipment that should be available
- Describe the safe use of First Aid equipment
- Assess an incident
- Conduct a primary survey of a casualty
- Manage an unresponsive casualty
- Recovery position
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, handover and how to use an AED
- External bleeding management
- Administer First Aid to a casualty who is in shock, choking, epilepsy, diabetes and minor injuries and more.
ACCREDITATION:
This comprehensive First Aid course consists of 7 hours face to face training and a 30 minute assessment. Upon completion of this course professionals will have 7 hours towards their Driver CPC.
This First Aid qualification remains valid for 3 years.
